Meeting this standard ensures fair prices for growers, fair labor conditions and investment in community development. Fair trade coffee is also grown and harvested under strict environmental standards.

What is Organic? Organic coffee is grown without fertilizers, pesticides, hormones or any synthetic substances. Organic farms like the ones growing our coffee have been certified to have eliminated all pesticides and fertilizers while at the same time conserving the natural resources of land and water.

What is Shade Grown? Shade grown coffee is cultivated under a natural canopy of sun-filtering trees. Drinking shade-grown coffee helps reduce deforestation and erosion and promotes biodiversification. Coffee grown in the shade is also often thought to taste better because the long ripening times contribute to complex flavors.
