Morsels

Wake Up and Smell the Tea
Cappuccino was created in 1946. Starbucks frappuccino came to Chicago in 1987. Al Pacino was born in 1940. Now comes “teapuccino,” courtesy of Argo Tea (958 W. Armitage Ave.; 312-873-4123). The brainchild of four corporate techies who weren’t having fun in the dot.com world, Argo is scheduled to open in May. “Tea is the second most popular drink in the world,” spokesperson/partner Arsen Avakian explained. (Water, in case you’re wondering.) “We want to do for tea what Starbucks did for coffee.” With 40 different loose teas plus brews on tap like tea sangria and “tea rex” for kids, Argo is issuing a challenge to its Lincoln Park neighbor across the street: Starbucks.
