My Old Fashioned Honey

A classic among classics elevated by the mingling of whiskey, honey and black tea.

While a traditional Old Fashioned is sweetened with a sugar cube, Carolina Honey imparts a floral, delicate sweetness and robust black tea undertone that pairs impeccably with earthy, woodsy flavor notes of whiskey. For our Carolina Honey, we source honey that is collected from wild bees and blended to light amber. Blenders determine honey color using the Pfund scale—a color gradient scale with 7 colors from "Water White" to "Dark Amber.” Different colored honeys can have different taste and nutritional profiles, depending on natural factors such as the bee's floral sources and the weather. My Old Fashioned Honey is best served on the rocks in a Old Fashioned glass (we'll keep that part of the tradition).

  • 2 oz Whiskey (or Bourbon)
  • 2 oz Argo Tea Carolina Honey
  • A few dashes of Angostura Bitters
  • Orange Zest Garnish
